Ibogaine carries serious risks
Ibogaine is a controlled substance in many countries, including Israel and the United States. It is not an approved medicine for any indication in Israel. It affects cardiac conduction and has been associated with QT-interval prolongation, serious arrhythmia, and deaths — particularly where it has been taken without cardiac screening, without continuous medical monitoring, alongside other drugs or medications, or by people with pre-existing heart, liver, or neurological conditions. Risk is not eliminated by taking a lower dose or by a supportive setting.
Research is not proof
The studies described on this website are, for the most part, small, early-phase, and conducted under close medical supervision with cardiac protocols in place. Encouraging results in a screened research cohort are not evidence that ibogaine is safe or effective for you. Where we cite a figure, we link the source so you can judge it yourself; where the evidence is thin, we try to say so.
Never self-treat
Never take ibogaine or iboga, obtain it from an unregulated supplier, travel for unsupervised treatment, stop or change prescribed medication, or delay conventional care on the basis of anything published on this website or linked from it. If you are considering treatment, discuss it with your own physician first, and tell them about every medication and supplement you take.
